And more importantly there is no quality control on automated builds. First off I think it’s a bit abusive of the PPA build farm, since git doesn’t change every single day. Of course people will say “Why not automate nightly builds?”. Building packages for multiple versions of Ubuntu that often is just too time consuming. It has a git master build of Darktable for whatever version of Ubuntu I’m personally using. The Unstable PPA is more or less my personal (but public) playground. And even after a release I need a couple of days to catch up. Please do note the usage of the word release, I usually do not build for unreleased versions of Ubuntu.

The Release-Plus PPA has everything the Release PPA has, plus updated versions of Lensfun and Exiv2.įor both the Release and Release-Plus PPA I’ll try to always build Darktable packages for at least the latest Ubuntu release and the latest Ubuntu LTS (Long Term Support) release. The difference between the Release and Release-Plus PPAs, is that the Release PPA only has the latest Darktable release package plus any dependencies that aren’t in the meanstream repo’s (lcms2 ATM).

Small mistake, it’s actually possible to remove spots by rightclicking them.įor the past few weeks people have been bothering me about when I’ll update my PPAs for Natty… So let me explain my intentions for my PPAs in general.

Please try to view the video on the original page or upgrade to a recent version of Firefox, Chromium or Opera. That probably means your browser or aggregator probably doesn’t support HTML5 video. The downside is that I was recovering from a cold, so these screencasts sound a bit rough: Darktable 0.9 Update ( download) So at the very least this warranted an update screencast. Since I did my last darktable 0.7 screencast library, some things have changed. I'm halfway through The VueScan Bible.Darktable 0.9 Screencast Library (Addition) That's why I'm anxious to get it right first time. And I suppose being in a film scanner's bright light won't be too good for them either. (I may already have done, long time since we had a slide show (Leica Pradovit) but would be on screen about a minute or more perhaps, some longer than others). >Unfortunately, Kodachrome has the worst projector-fading stability of any currently available slide film.do not exceed total projection time of one hour for Kodachrome Thank you for the interesting chapter and illustrations - you dont see beards like that now! It also said The loft is airy and dry but subject to great changes in temperature. But I shall think about if there is anywhere in the house with lower humidity. Good point, at the moment they are in hard Leica slide boxes inside cardboard sleeves at the top of bookshelves with no direct sunlight coming into the room.

Kodachrome is also the only chromogenic color film that remains completely free of yellow stain formation during extended dark storage. Kodachrome films have the best dark fading stability of any conventional color film, either negative or transparency. On conservation: I hope any digital storage regime you choose proves as robust as the proven archival qualities of Kodachrome. Hallo Gast!ĭu willst die Bilder sehen? If you scan it Raw or DNG, you then have a file you can archive and work it over and over again, like a negative or slide. It usually needs adjustment in an editing program anyway, so why do it twice. People spend too much time trying to get the scan right in the scanning software. When I use Vuescan, I just scan the image with no corrections and save as a DNG file. It's not perfect, but it gets you real close. Negafix in Silverfast is the correction for negative film and is specific to type also.Ĭhoose the film type you are scanning and go from there. If you don't shoot slide film, then you don't need it. The IT8 Target is only for slide film and each one is specific to the film it was shot on.
